PADI Shark Awareness Specialty Course.
Dive Forster at Fishermans Wharf are the World originators of
this unique specialty.
The Forster area is one of the best places in the World to dive with sharks.
There are resident populations of Grey Nurse Sharks, as well as several other
varieties of sharks here all year round.
The Grey Nurse Sharks are now declared an endangered species and undertaking
this course will give you a greater insight into the conservation problems that
beset the Grey Nurse Sharks as a species. Conservation
The PADI Shark Awareness Specialty Course is run over 2 days with 4 boat dives
being completed. There is a theory and shark appreciation section included in
the program.
You will learn to correctly identify different species of Sharks, their anatomy,
history, physiology and behaviour patterns.
You will also learn how to correctly and safely dive with Sharks as per the
NSW Fisheries and NSW diving associations code of conduct.
The Shark Awareness specialty course is one of the most unique specialties
you can do as a SCUBA diver and it gives you a totally different insight into
these misunderstood creatures.
Prerequisites
PADI advanced or equivalent rating
Minimum of 15 years of age
Have a sense of adventure.
